Bybit Leverages

To set a leverage value, you need to go to the "Leverages" page. You can use the search function to navigate to the desired symbol.

How set the leverage value for a symbol:

  • Place the cursor in the Set Leverage field, enter the value manually and click on the green checkmark to confirm.
  • Using the buttons to the right of the Max notional value. The values are sorted by the position size.

You can edit several leverage values from the list at the same time, and then confirm or cancel the changes.

Restrictions on the side of the cryptocurrency exchange:

  • You cannot set the leverage value higher than the maximum.
  • The maximum available value for the selected leverage is displayed.
  • Leverages with a value higher than the maximum available are highlighted in red in the Set Leverage field.

Auto leverage adjustment​

Often the exchange will lower the maximum leverage for an individual coin. For example, during periods of increased volatility. If the set leverage value is higher than the maximum, this means that the exchange has reduced the maximum leverage value and it is lower than the one you previously set. You cannot open a position with a symbol whose leverage is set higher than the maximum available.

The auto leverage adjustment feature will help you avoid exceeding the maximum leverage. If the feature is enabled, then, when the maximum leverage is reduced by the exchange, all leverage values exceeding the maximum available will be set to the new maximum value.

THIS FUNCTION CAN ONLY DECREASE THE LEVERAGE VALUE EXCEEDING THE MAXIMUM. IF THE MAXIMUM VALUE INCREASES, THE LEVERAGE VALUE WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY INCREASE.
THE FUNCTION WILL NOT WORK IF THE LEVERAGE VALUE IS CHANGED ANYWHERE EXCEPT IN YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT (FOR EXAMPLE IN A THIRD-PARTY TERMINAL)

To enable auto leverage adjustment:

  1. Go to Leverages.
  2. Enable “Auto adjust leverage”.

or

  1. Go to Profile → Settings.
  2. Enable “Auto adjust leverage”.

Bulk leverage changes​

It is possible to set the leverage for all instruments at once:

  • For the selected leverage value or the maximum.
  • For the selected value by the volume of the max position.
  • Optimum. The most effective leverage value based on the deposit.
  • Maximum. The maximum value based on the deposit.

You can enter your own value or select from the preset ones.

You can also disable bulk changes for individual symbols:

  1. Find the desired symbol in the list.
  2. Click on the lock at the beginning of the line.

Locked symbols are not affected by bulk changes buttons.

Leverages sync​

If you change the leverage value in a third-party software, the leverage values in your personal account will not change. The maximum leverage adjustment function will stop working and you will get the default limit.

To fix it, you will need to synchronize your leverages with the cryptocurrency exchange settings manually:

  1. Open the “Leverage page”.
  2. Click on “Synchronize” leverage values with the exchange.

The settings will be synchronized within a few minutes.
